Borders/Customs/Duties:

YubiKeys purchased at Yubico.com ship from the US and EU. When a package must travel through border customs, there may be a customs fee (import duty) that the buyer is responsible for paying. Typically, this means that if a package is shipping outside of the United States or European Union, it will be subject to customs fees.

A request for payment will usually come from the shipping company. It is the buyers responsibility to know their country’s border fees and taxes, and expect to pay them when importing products from Yubico.

We cannot currently ship to:
China, Afghanistan, Russia, Ukraine, North Korea, Iran, Sudan, Cuba, or Syria

*Orders usually ship within one business day of receipt. Note that these are estimates and shipping times can vary. Limited edition items may require additional shipping time, usually noted on the ordering page; the cart and checkout page may not reflect additional delivery time. Allow an additional 7-10 days before contacting Yubico (or your reseller) to inquire about a shipment. Customs clearances are also a factor for some countries. Orders may be delayed during promotional periods.

**VAT is applied to shipping fees, where applicable.

US sales tax

If an item is subject to sales tax in the state to which the order is shipped, sales tax is generally calculated on the total selling price of each individual item. For certain shipments, taxes may be collected on shipping and handling charges in accordance with state tax laws. The amount of tax charged on an order will depend on factors including the type of item purchased and destination of the shipment. Factors can change between the time you place an order and the time of credit card charge authorization, which could impact the sales tax calculation. The amount appearing on your order is an Estimated Tax and may differ from the sales taxes ultimately charged.

Tax exemption

Some US individuals or businesses may qualify for tax exempt purchases.

VAT

We use the VIES service to validate VAT numbers. If your number does not validate, we cannot accept it. Check if your number validates on the VIES service. If it does not, contact your local VAT authority.

Order returns and cancellations

Yubico.com online purchase – return policy

We have worked very hard to create the YubiKey and hope that it brings simplicity and security to your services and devices. We offer technical support and answers to many commonly asked questions via our Knowledge Base. In addition, we are here to help you through chat and via our support team. You can reach our support team at https://support.yubico.com.

We understand that YubiKey may not be right for every person or use case. In case you decide YubiKey isn’t right for you, we are happy to accept a return, and provide a refund for your purchased products.

Yubico.com returns

Items purchased directly from Yubico.com are eligible to be returned within 45 days of receipt. Your payment method will be credited the full amount for the merchandise returned minus associated restocking and shipping fees if applicable.

The following return instructions apply only to Yubico products purchased online at yubico.com. If you have purchased Yubico products through other online channels, such as Amazon or a Yubico reseller, you should contact Amazon or the reseller directly for their return instructions.  

Restocking fees:

  • There is no restocking fee for the return of up to 9 keys.

For larger orders

  • A 10% restocking fee will be applied for the return of 10 or more security keys.
  • A 10% restocking fee will be applied for the return of any number of YubiHSMs.

Shipping/Customs/Duties:

Shipping/Customs/Duties fees will not be refunded. Customer is responsible for paying the return postage.

To begin a Yubico.com return please request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) by completing the Yubico Customer Support form.

Please package products along with a copy of the RMA number that is provided to you. The RMA number must be printed with the return address that will also be provided. From the date that the RMA is granted, the returned items must be received by Yubico within 30 days.

*YubiKeys that were purchased with a promotional discount will be fairly refunded.
**YubiKeys that were purchased as a bundle with a discount will be fairly refunded.

Example: Yubico offers an online special (Two YubiKeys at 20% Off). (2) YubiKey 4 (Normally $40 each) = $80 $64. Customer returns one of the YubiKeys which was part of the special bundled offer. Customer will receive a refund of $24. This reflects a purchase of one YubiKey 4 at its normal price, as the order is no longer eligible for the promotional price. 

Cancellations 

Orders cancelled before customer shipment has left Yubico will be refunded in full.

If the order has shipped:
