Yubico CEO Stina Ehrensvard Honored with Global Excellence Award

PALO ALTO, Calif. and STOCKHOLM, Mar. 5, 2012 – Yubico, the leading provider of simple, open online identity protection, announced that CEO and founder Stina Ehrensvard was named the winner of Info Security Products Guide’s Global Excellence Award honoring her as outstanding female executive in the security industry.

In 2007, Ehrensvard co-founded Yubico, which is today a rapidly growing Internet authentication company. Its flagship product, the YubiKey, is used by over a million users and 18,000 customers globally. The company recently announced the YubiKey NEO, the world’s first NFC–enabled one-time password token and YubiKey Nano, the world’s smallest one-time password token. The company recorded 90 percent customer growth in 2011 compared with 2010.

“We recognized Stina for her work as an internationally acknowledged IT entrepreneur with a proven track record of creating and bringing new technology innovations to global markets and spearheading partnerships with world-leading technology providers,” said Rake Narang, editor, Info Security Products Guide.

“I’m grateful to Info Security Products Guide for this award,” said Ehrensvard.  “While I appreciate the personal recognition, I owe much to the hard work and dedication of my team who believe in our company and our products to solve our customer’s challenges.  Together, Yubico is changing the way the world looks at secure authentication technology.”

The security industry celebrated its 8th Annual 2012 Global Excellence Awards in San Francisco by honoring excellence in every facet of the industry including products, people behind the successes and best companies. More than 50 judges from a broad spectrum of industry voices from around the world participated and their average scores determined the 2012 Global Excellence Awards Finalists and Winners.

Winners were announced during the awards dinner and presentation on February 29 attended by the finalists, judges and industry peers. Info Security Products Guide is an industry-leading information security research and advisory guide.
