Yubico Presents the Evolution of Two-Factor Authentication and New Integrations at CIS

PALO ALTO, CA – Jun 8, 2015 – Yubico, the leading provider of simple and open online identity protection, today announced the company’s participation and activities at the Cloud Identity Summit (CIS), June 8-11 in La Jolla, CA. Yubico will be exhibiting FIDO Certified™ U2F authentication — YubiKey NEO, YubiKey Edge and U2F Security Key — and new functionality throughout the Summit at Booth #20.

YubiKeys offer a wide range of strong authentication options including one-time password (OTP), FIDO U2F, OpenPGP, PIV support and more.

Announced today, the OTP functionality of the YubiKey will be integrated directly into PingID, the multi-factor authentication engine within Ping Identity’s flagship cloud identity service, PingOne. With this support, an individual can use the YubiKey as a second factor if they are not able to access their mobile device. Additionally, should login credentials be stolen, a hacker would not be able to access the SSO environment without the YubiKey.

Yubico will also be highlighting U2F login to Google accounts and recent added support for Google Drive for Work. This functionality allows Google Drive for Work admins to monitor, track, and report on key usage, plus provide policies for optional or mandatory enrollment. These management capabilities are a powerful evolution in the value of YubiKeys for enterprises of all sizes.

Yubico’s CEO and Founder, Stina Ehrensvard, will deliver a talk entitled Can Hardware MFA Move from Meh to Aha?‘ on Monday, June 8, at 4:30 pm. The session will provide a historical perspective on hardware multi-factor authentication (MFA) and hurdles that have prevented it from mainstream consumer and enterprise appeal. As the technology has changed and advanced, modern innovation is introducing MFA to new markets and providing great strength to break through all adoption barriers.

YubiKey integration into Ping Identity’s service will be generally available on June 29, 2015. At CIS, find the Yubico team and see live demonstrations at Booth #20. For more information and to learn more about YubiKeys and FIDO U2F, please visit www.yubico.com.
