Yubico and SSO Make Single Sign-On with Two-Factor Authentication Easier

PALO ALTO, Calif. and STOCKHOLM, Feb. 6, 2012 – Easy and cost-efficient two-factor authentication for Single Sign-On is now made available by a partnership between Yubico, the leading provider of simple, open online identity protection, and SSO Easy, provider of SAML server solutions.

Strong two-factor authentication is vital for securing access to SAML-based single sign-on servers and mission-critical application with sensitive information. To provide a high level of security to their clients, SSO Easy chose Yubico’s YubiKey, a small driverless USB-token that simplifies the process of logging in with a One-Time Password (OTP).

“We scanned the marketplace for all potential complementary strong authentication solutions, and we then conducted a thorough evaluation of those vendors,” said John Dougherty, Senior vice president, SSO Easy. “We selected the YubiKey because it provides a high level of security, while enabling a seamless user experience. The solution is extremely cost effective and Yubico has proven to be extremely easy to work with.”

SSO Easy has integrated YubiKey support in EasyConnect. This Single Sign-On server product makes SAML 2.0 and SAML 1.1 project implementations easier, faster, and more cost effective. The integrated YubiKey-SSO Easy solution provides a solution that is easy and cost-effective enough for small organizations, and robust and scalable enough to meet enterprise client needs.

“The ultimate vision for Yubico is to enable a single and easy-to-use strong identity to access an unlimited number of applications. However, in general, the high cost and complexity of traditional two-factor authentication technologies and enterprise class SAML servers have limited the adoption. Yubico is very pleased to partner with SSO Easy to make single sign-on, secure easy and affordable for the vast range of organizations,” said Stina Ehrensvard, CEO and Founder, Yubico.

The joint YubiKey and SSO Easy solution works out-of-the-box, leveraging existing APIs. Free trials of the complete, integrated solution are available through SSO Easy. Free Trials are typically completed in about one hour.
