Akiri Solutions Launches Linux Screen Sharing Tool with YubiKey Authentication

PALO ALTO, September 18, 2012 – Silicon Valley Innovation Company Akiri Solutions, presents a new approach to screen sharing and distributed development, initially targeting Linux users. The solution is named Coterm and is offered with optional YubiKey strong two-factor authentication from Yubico.

The new product Coterm allows people to completely share their Linux or Mac shell/terminal session or Windows CMD session. It is similar and complementary to Citrix Go-To-My-PC, but instead of sharing the whole screen, it allows two or more people to quickly share the text-based terminal/shell session for remote, collaborative, problem debugging. Coterm’s innovative architecture results in minimum delays even with limited Internet bandwidth or high latency.

“Yubico is pleased to partner with Akiri Solutions, offering fast, affordable and secure solutions for distributed development and collaboration” says Stina Ehrensvard, CEO & Founder, Yubico.

Two-factor authentication via the YubiKey is an exciting new feature and is supported for both shell/terminal collaboration and Akiri user access” said Matthew R. Laue, CEO of Akiri Solutions. “This optional feature greatly improves security, but has the YubiKey’s push-of-a-button ease of use.”

Coterm is free for non-commercial use, and priced at US $8/month for commercial use. To evaluate the product, you just need to download and run a file, no installation is required. All YubiKeys ordered at Yubico web store supporting YubiCloud validation service works seamlessly with Coterm.

Akiri Solutions is launching the YubiKey support with a 30% discount for Yubikey customers. For the 30% discount, enter the coupon code “yubikey” on checkout, valid during 2012.
