Passkeys provide strong protections against phishing attacks, but given the various implementations it can be challenging for users to understand how to set up and use the solution they want. In the current state, platforms, browsers and IDPs implementations are inconsistent. Adding to the complexity is that the passkey can be stored and managed on an external security key, device or even an app– adding to the user confusion.

The industry has taken notice of these challenges, and is maturing to address the user experience challenges to make adoption of passkeys much easier. This talk will detail how the FIDO specifications and industry deployments are working to attend to these concerns.This includes the broad efforts being done by the FIDO Alliance and other organizations, as well as how to improve the user experience. Attendees will take away specific best practices for how to improve their user’s experience of passkeys.
