YubiKey Successfully Deployed in Turkey Government

PALO ALTO, Calif. and STOCKHOLM, Feb. 10, 2011 — Yubico, a leading provider of easy and secure login solutions, and Nordic Edge, provider of identity and access management solutions, today announced that a combined solution has been selected to provide login authentication for Turkey e-government.

The Turkey Customs and Social Agency has successfully deployed the Nordic Edge One Time Password Server with authentication tokens from Yubico, enabling easy and secure cloud single sign on for more than 10,000 staff members.

Turkey is going through the process of introducing e-government solutions as a way to simplify, secure and streamline operations. During 2010, a thorough analysis of the authentication market was performed. The conclusion was that Nordic Edge was the best fit.
The product used is the One Time Password Server from Nordic Edge which authenticates all the users using username/password and a one-time password. The YubiKey®, the innovative USB-key from Yubico, was selected as the method for two-factor authentication. The integration partner Cloud Solutions has, together with local partners, deployed the solution.

“The Nordic Edge solution combined with YubiKeys has many advantages,” says Umut Yesilirmak, IT Security Manager at General Directorate of Social Assistance and Solidarity in Turkey.  “It is easy to roll out, easy to use, scalable and very flexible with its many ways to authenticate users. Nordic Edge also offers very good support.”

Sweden is one of the leading countries embracing e-government and Nordic Edge and Yubico have a large penetration within the public sector in Sweden, which has served as a reference for the Turkish project.

Nordic Edge and Yubico solutions will be demonstrated at the RSA Conference in San Francisco, February 14-18, 2011 in the Nordic Edge booth in the OATH pavilion.

The Nordic Edge YubiKey 10-User Starter Pack is available for $300, and is available immediately at www.nordicedge.net/yubico.
