The YubiKey provides strong two-factor authentication, combining something you know (a PIN or password) with a physical device generating encrypted one time passwords (the YubiKey USB-key). It protects your online identity from viruses, Trojans and hackers at a security level that can be compared with a smart card. Unmatched ease of use
Placed in the USB port, the YubiKey is recognized as a USB keyboard so it works on all computers, platforms and browsers with no client software needed (Windows, Linux, Mac, iPad, Firefox, Chrome, etc.). With a simple touch on the device, it automatically generates and enters a unique identity and One-Time Password (OTP) into the login field of the application supporting the YubiKey. The OTP is instantly verified, enabling secure login within a second.
Practically indestructible
The environmental friendly YubiKey is minimal sized (3 grams, 3 mm thin), battery-free and waterproof. It survives going through the laundry and being run over by a car. With extra hard gold on the USB-contact it will last for daily use on a key chain for ten years and 100,000 inserts into a USB-port.
Multiple configurations
The YubiKey holds two separate identities that can be easily configured to any of the following:
- Standard Yubico OTP - 12 character ID + 32 character OTP, for use with Yubico servers
- OATH OTP - 6 or 8 digit OTP, for use with third party OATH servers
- Static pass code - 1-64 characters for legacy login applications
- Challenge-response - Using client software

The YubiKey is provided with free open source server software and a free hosted validation service. We only charge a one time hardware cost of $25 for a single YubiKey, $15 for a tray of 50 YubiKeys and further discounts in larger volumes. Combined with lowest shipping cost and minimal support requirements, the YubiKey offers the markets' lowest total fees and annual cost per credential.
