No client software

No need for any client software driver. Browser and application independent. Compatible with Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla/Firefox, Opera and others.

32 characters time variant code

- creating a unique code sent in encrypted form each time:
- Custom programmable username (sent in plain text)
- Custom programmable unique ID (sent in encrypted form)
- Event based code with patent-pending “Phishing-trap” (no clock in device)

Standard encryption

AES-128 encryption. Each OTP is one AES block, and is encrypted in Electronic Code Book (ECB) mode.

Automatic navigation

Programmable URL for automatic navigation to website. This convenience feature is currently limited to users on Windows platforms. Navigation for Mac under development.

OpenID support

The YubiKey can be used on sites using the OpenID protocol, enabling one single token to be used for multiple services.
