Launching YubiKey 2.0
A year after launch, we are proud to present YubiKey 2.0, enhanced with the feedback from our community.
Dual functionality - Users can now easily program the YubiKey to have two independent and separate configurations. For example one static password and one One-Time Pass-code - one for a legacy system and one for a high security validation server. All in one single YubiKey!
Flexible pass-codes – A static pass-code can now include any combination of 16 to 64 characters and/or numbers. And changing the static key to randomly generate a new code can be achieved by 2 presses of the button.
New hardware design - With a new innovative hardware design and manufacturing process, the YubiKey is now a hermetically sealed device. It is even more durable, resistant to breaking and even water resistant.
Multiple colors – Available to order in standard colors black and white. When ordering over 5000 units, custom colors are available.
YubiKey Personalization Tool – To complement the YubiKey 2.0 we have also re-engineered this. With this tool, you can enable access to all the new capability of the YubiKey 2.0. If you have many YubiKeys, it helps you automate the programming of your keys. It also works with the previous versions of the YubiKey.
Customer discount - As a thanks for great YubiKey applications we are sending out free YubiKeys 2.0 during next week to our Yubico wiki solution providers. For all other existing YubiKey customers we offer a 40% discount during June and July 2009 when ordering up to 9 YubiKeys on our web store. Enter the discount code YUBI4T and you will pay only US$ 15 per YubiKey 2.0.

New AES key upload service
To simplify and improve security for our customers, we do no longer provide AES keys through the YubiKey Management Service. With the new personalization tool, it takes less than 10 seconds to burn your own AES keys. For larger volumes, we provide AES keys protected using OpenPGP on a CD or sent via e-mail, which needs to be ordered at time of purchase. For customers who want to connect YubiKeys to the Yubico hosted service, we now also offer a free self-support AES key upload service.
